I gots to get in here. . too long now without football. . I’m having withdrawl symptoms.
Arsenalman - so when is Bergkamp going to finally retire? Jeeps the guy must be in his 60’s by now. Or are they just trying to find a decent replacement for him? And how are you coping with the loss of Vieira?
I think all eyes will be on Chelsea this year. With the addition of SWP and Del Horno, is a repeat in the making?
So Englander, are you still counting the days until the United v. City Derby? September 10th my friend. . .
Anyways, it will be an interesting year, no doubt about it, right now I’m interested to see how United will rebound this year, after a dreadful showing last season. The Ferdinand contract dispute has me a bit nervous, but I’m sure they will come to an agreement soon.
One good thing about being a City fan is the women, I go on a City website, and this is one of the regulars, I know it’s the net, but she lives round the corner from me, and she won the FHM Honeys thing last year, I know she’s for real ‘cos everyone on the City site voted about 80 times.
Not particularly safe for work, no nudity, just a bit ‘erotic’.
Englander....she is upside down........By the way Jo Guest is an Arsenal fan.
Hey Baghdad...I will happily have Bergkamp playing until his 60....Arsenal fans love him...probably bigger than Henry. As I was saying to Englander...Arsenal have a lot of hope in Bentley who is out of the Bergkamp mode. With EUFA new ruling in regard to teams having a percentage of English players then this will strengthen his claim for making a career at Arsenal.
As for Vieira - thats a dire situation. Okay he had an indifferent season last year but that is not an excuse to let him go they way they did. I would have hoped for another couple of seasons with him as captain. What makes the whole thing worse is not even having a replacement for him. Arsenal have effectively said to the fans is “we are in a rebuilding stage so don’t expect to win much for another couple of years”. By then Chelski will have vanished over the horizon along with Man United Seahawks (or chiefs, 49ers, cowboys, dolphins, whatever Glazier decides......any suggestions out there?)
Another one, notice the Man City tattoo on her back. *Movement*
A suggestion Manure’s new name, how about the ‘Manchester Fuckwits’?
Englander why so harsh on your City side? the “fuckwits”? I know they had a tough go last season. . . but go easy eh?
Tough? Compared to the ‘Biggest Club In The World™’, we only finished 5 places behind you, and we beat Chelsea, in fact we had the best return in the Premiership against them. Beat that, Kiddo. What did you achieve, remind me?
I was actually reffering to the Rags as the Manchester Fuckwits (as well you know), it seems only fitting that they should have that name as they’ll be playing at the ‘Tampax Arena’, once Sir Malcolm has sold the naming rights.
Nice try baghdad....but sadly we must pursue this point on manure a little longer.....will they be be renamed - Starbucks United, Red Devil Rodents, Manglazier Uniteshites, ManUSA Carpetbaggers, Rooney Calhounies?...this could get interesting.
Englander...ah yes that’s better...nice tattoo. Anymore pics, I need to confirm the identity of that tattoo.
CM...let’s see how well you go against the Boks.....Whatever happened to the Rainbow Warrior?
The Boks !? Don’t make me laugh. They were horrible against a poor Aussie the other week, and cheated their way to a win on the weekend back in SA. Sure, they are always hard at home, but the All Blacks should take the Tri-Nations this year. Then we’ve got a Grand Slam at the end of the year. If we can take that without losing a game we’ll have had an incredible year. Lions sweep, Tri-nations, and Grand Slam. That’s gotta be more impressive even than a World Cup (where you play about 3 hard teams to win).
Fantastic on the news of the forum on the Rainbow Warrior, that particular event has stuck in my throat for years....boy did the french get away with it on that one. What a pity the Internet was not in full flow then.
As for the Rugby....well I was in a few Rugby forums before the last world cup and the Kiwi’s kept having a go about England’s record in the World Cup...as you can imagine they ate humble pie when England defeated the Aussies in the final. I could not believe the forums prior to the final. The anyone but England brigade where out in force. In particular the welsh, scots and the french. I would have to say the Australians where respectful and congratulatory. Of course I could not resist telling the Kiwi’s that they had never won a real world cup because South Africa were not in it. Unsuprisingly their response was muted...They new that they where looking at a team with tremendous potential that could not handle the pressure when it mattered. You can win all you want this season and the next....but it’s the world cup where your glory boys will be tested. You can be sure they will be favourites and you can be sure that they will crumble under the inevitable expectation.
Englander- mmmmmyessss looks vaguely like a Bald eagle....you sure this isnt Glaziers wife’s back?
CM you saw the warrior the day before they (frogs) blew a hole in it? There was a party on board the day before, don’t tell me you were on board before the froggy frogman applied the mines to the hull of the boat?
Nah we usually do perform when it counts - as much as it is disappointing, we don’t live or die by the World Cup every four years. We are consistently the Number 1 team in the world, certainly by far the most consistent international team. We’ve played five top games in a row now (the hiding we gave France in Paris, a predictable romp over Fiji, and then the wholesale demolition of “the best Lions team ever” in three consecutive games.
We lost to Aussie, not England. Mitchell turned out to be a poor All Black coach - ignoring the forwards. Henry has a great all-round game, and certainly showed the northern hemisphere (and the laughable Stephen Jones in the Times) that forward play in the south is not dead at all (in fact it is currently ahead of the north). The England team were decent at the World Cup for what they were playing - had some outstanding individuals that suited a very one-dimensional game. It all came together. Woodward has now shown us what a poor one-dimensional coach he is. If he hadn’t had Johnny or Martin, England would never have won. They also were the only team ‘peaking’ at the right time.
In some ways it was better that England won for NZ - we’d rather the Aussies not have 3 World Cup’s to our 1.
1987 - even though the Boks weren’t there, it was a pretty competitive Cup. More teams could have won that than can win it now, many have fallen away.
And don’t get me started on the debacle of the ‘95 final.
CM-95 semi final was my moment to forget. In 95 beating the aussies was our World Cup and then the all blacks ran over us via lomu. You do show the lack of grace and compulsive need for excuses that infects most kiwis sadly. To say the kiwis don’t care about world cups is disingenous at best and outright S*** at worst. The kiwis in the rugby forum almost cut their wrists when the lost to Australia. It’s becoming an excuse that it does not matter. You have not won since the eighties and your running out of excuses. Teams are remembered now when the win world cups in all sports. You cracked then as you have in every world cup since you won it. That comes down to the one-eyed pressure placed on your teams shoulders by the nation of New Zealand at large. I think you should place greater respect to sailing for which you are one of the greatest on earth. On top of that you have a major winner in Golf in Campbell who is a maori to boot. These are sports that you should give more respect to and not just piling pressure upon pressure onto your rugby team. If you do not win in France in the next world cup with this team you have now then you will be classed not as world champions but world class bottlers. Thw world will be watching you.
As for Woodward, it was more down to the players in paticular Johnson and the coaches than it was him that England won it. As for peaking at the right time...that’s the idea isn’t it?
Just checking, youse are talking english, aint ya’s? :veryconfused:
See the disclaimer at the start of the thread.
I am thinking of starting another thread entitled ‘English to American translations’, as Oscar Wilde said, ‘England and America, two countries seperated by a common language’.

I saw it, just thought I’d look and see what it read like. Certainly not like I’ll try to correct anyone. Mainly for my own linguistic education.
OK, fellas, we should market this thread as the authentic British pub experience, slagging each other off, arguing about sport and looking at womens arses. 3 pints of Guiness, a packet of pork scratchings and it’s totally authentic.
This is a fantastic idea, adding the girl pics is a particular advancement to all lads minds. We need more...with slagging eachother to increase ten fold. Dump the scratchings and bring on the onion rings. By the way I drink Belgian Beer so get your big money out because it is not cheap.
