It might be against Man Law to do this, but you could either ask your friend what to wear, or go to the trendy men’s store, find a male sales clerk, and tell him you’re going clubbing in Cincinatti with NFL cheerleaders and what does he suggest?

That’s what I’d do. But I’m not a man.
Have you seen LD? If he tells a sales clerk he’s going clubbing with NFL Cheerleaders he’ll have him commited. ;-)
But I have previous photo proof of me hanging out with NFL cheerleaders. :)
I’ll probably do what I end up doing when I buy a suit...go into a nice store, credit card in hand, tell them the purpose of the purchase, and buy whatever they put on me.

In that case, Hugo Boss, far and away the best suits. I like Armani gear, but the suits always seem ‘cheaply’ made, when I say cheaply, I mean the quality doesn’t seem to fit the price. Alternatively, on a cheaper scale, Van Gils, if you can get ‘em in the States. I’ve had one about 10 years, still in excellent condition.

Not knocking Hugo Boss, but if you’ve got a slim enough waistline (which unfortunately I no longer have) I’d always go with Canali, classic Italian tailoring, great cut and great quality. Might be able to pick up something decent value in the summer sales too.
If I was going for casual shirt for the evening you can’t go far wrong with Kenzo.
Of course we’re all talking the talk, but I imagine most of us spend most of our time lazing around in jeans and t-shirt . . .
Sorry, Englander, I didn’t mean to imply I’m buying a suit for this, just that on the occassion I do buy a suit, that’s what I do. I will likely be wearing jeans, that’s the suggestion I’ve gotten around work. Of course, the jeans everyone recommends are like $180 a pair or more so that may not happen.
Spending a £100 on jeans makes no sense, you literally are just paying for the label, I’ve had Armani, Moschino, Paul Smith, Versace and D+G jeans, and I reckon Levis are the best made and best cut.
When you buy tailoring, you pay for the cut, when you buy jeans you pay for the label.
Get a pair of Levis, and a smart designer shirt, you’ll do that for £150.

To be fair Englander, we don’t know what you look like and you are off the dating circuit. We will just have to take your word that chicks dig you and you dress magnificently. Oh, and have smooth skin. :cheese:

That reminds me, I’ll have to post a pic, I am rather hideous (think Shrek munching nettles, crossed with a primate), but impecably dressed with VERY smooth skin.
Polo jeans, DKNY shirt. The hot girl at the counter complimented me on the shirt so that’s a good sign. I am going to wear black leather shoes, no laces. I couldn’t find a pair I liked last night so I have to search some more today. And I need a belt.

Try www.Zappos.com for shoes. They have every size and style possible, and they give you next day shipping at no charge. When you order, it will say that the shipping will take 2-3 days, but they send you an email telling you they have upgraded you to next day.
And if you don’t like them, UPS will send them back at no charge and zappos will either exchange them or refund them. If you fill out the online exchange form, they send you new shoes before you even send the old ones back.
