Yep. The Man himself is in NYC and nobodys tried to kill him.

NEW YORK (CNN)—Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday challenged a university audience to look into “who was truly involved” in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, defended his right to question established Holocaust history and denied there were gay Iranians.

So where were the mass human rights rallies? GLAAD and gay pride paraders? The ACLU waving banners? The student who would cry “Fuck Iran?” The student who would cut in line and ask Ahmadinejad some real questions and running the risk of getting tased?

If the Holocaust is a reality of our time, a history that occurred, why is there not sufficient research that can approach the topic from different perspectives?” he asked.

On this point, Ahmadinejad employed a tactic he used often Monday—answering questions with more questions.

Its an Arab thing you wouldn’t understand.

Bollinger asked, “Why is your government providing aid to terrorists? Will you stop doing so and permit international monitoring to certify that you have stopped?”

Through a translator, Ahmadinejad replied, “Well, I want to pose a question here to you. If someone comes and explodes bombs around you, threatens your president, members of the administration, kills the members of the Senate or Congress, how would you treat them? Would you reward them or would you name them a terrorist group? Well, it’s clear. You would call them a terrorist.”

Earlier Ahmadinejad had said he wanted to visit ground zero in New York to “pay his respects” to those who died in the attack on the twin towers at the World Trade Center. Several groups were outraged. Security became an issue and the visit was canceled. Asked what he hoped to accomplish there, the Iranian president said it was unfair he could not extend his sympathies to victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Addressing the press directly, he seemed to make a connection between the “root causes” of the September 11, 2001 attacks and a solution in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“If the root causes of 9/11 are examined properly—why it happened, what caused it, what were the conditions that led to it, who truly was involved, who was really involved—and put it all together to understand how to prevent the crisis in Iraq, fix the problem in Afghanistan and Iraq combined.”

And

If the Holocaust is a reality of our time, a history that occurred, why is there not sufficient research that can approach the topic from different perspectives?” he asked.

And

“If the root causes of 9/11 are examined properly—why it happened, what caused it, what were the conditions that led to it, who truly was involved, who was really involved -- and put it all together to understand how to prevent the crisis in Iraq, fix the problem in Afghanistan and Iraq combined.”

And

If the Holocaust is a reality of our time, a history that occurred, why is there not sufficient research that can approach the topic from different perspectives?” he asked.

Same shit.

“We oppose the way the U.S. government tries to manage the world. ... We propose more humane methods of establishing peace,” he said.

Woohoo.

Ahmadinejad rose to applause, and after a religious invocation said Bollinger’s opening was “an insult to information and the knowledge of the audience here”.

He blamed the university president’s “unfriendly treatment” on the influence of the US media and politicians ahead of his visit.

“Many parts of his speech were insults,” he said. “We actually respect our students and the professors by allowing them to make their own judgments.”

Aaawwwww. Alls thats missing is Chavez lighting a candle for El Hefe.

There ya go right there. Obviously, Iran has developed an anti-gay drug and they are not sharing with the rest of the world.
Why would anybody assume he is making any true statements in his speech?

This was a totally dumb move.

If you want to invite the guy to speak, sure, go ahead. I don’t really have a problem with that.
At the same time, don’t expect him to say anything meaningful when he does speak.

As for the Dean, don’t invite him and then spend 15 minutes at the start of the speech giving him shit. We all know who he is and what he stands for anyway. Invite the guy, let him talk, ask him questions, give him enough rope to hang himself and then tear him apart afterwards.

Columbia students piss me off. There were some shouting him down but not as many as have shouted down other “controversial” folks in the past. I have 2 problems with this.
Somebody has been invited to talk at your university, regardless of what you think of that person I believe they should give them the respect of letting them speak.
Secondly, if you are going to shout somebody down, do it consistently. Don’t yell like mad at the Minute Men and give Ahmaduschbag a pass.

Two unrelated points that crossed my mind as a result of this.

1. I’m starting to go a bit easier on holocaust questioners (not deniers as such). I’m not one of them, I’ve done some reading and I’m sure it happened but when you look at the numbers it is hard to believe, seriously. That and those dumb nations in Europe who make it illegal to vocalize doubt on the holocaust.

2. There’s not gay people in Iran, it just doesn’t happen. Yet we have pretty good reports that there are and when they are found they are killed simply for being gay. I have a hard enough time believing that being gay is a choice in our, by comparison, very tolerant western nations. I find it impossible that people choose to be gay in countries like Iran where they could be killed for it.

Rethugs shouted down dissent yet nobody got tased. Hmm…

What do numbers have to do with it, ultimately? Maybe cuz folks here are screeching “worse than Hitler!” at 3,800 dead soldiers. Thats still, at best, half of the total gassed at Auschwitz, according to some.

What about those porn girlies who, say, smilingly eat ejaculate from the anus of another girl, and maybe pass the “creampie” mouth-to-mouth? Do they choose to do that? For what, money?

Fuck it, the bum is already martyr back home. Death to America.

TEHRAN, Iran - Iranians expressed dismay Tuesday at the tough reception given to their president in New York, saying his host was rude and only fueled the image of the United States as a bully

The chancellors of seven Iranian universities issued a letter to Bollinger saying his “insult, in a scholarly atmosphere, to the president of a country with ... a recorded history of 7,000 years of civilization and culture is deeply shameful.”

Yeah, but the Holocaust is iffy, right.

They invited Bollinger to Iran, adding, “You can be assured that Iranians are very polite and hospitable toward their guests.”

Bollinger doesn’t want to gas (gay) Iranians.

Ahmadinejad’s popularity at home has been suffering, with many Iranians blaming him for failing to fix the faltering economy and for heightening the confrontation with the West with his inflammatory rhetoric.

But in the eyes of many Iranian critics and supporters alike, Ahmadinejad looked like the victim

Po baby.

Iran’s state-run radio said Bollinger’s comments were “full of insult, which was mostly Zionists’ propaganda against Iran.”

Fucking Joos. Proud Iranians would show them a real Holocaust....

Ahmadinejad’s international allies have also taken his side. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who is expecting a visit from Ahmadinejad this week, said he spoke by phone with the Iranian leader on Monday after what he called the “ambush” at Columbia.

“I congratulate him, in the name of the Venezuelan people, before a new aggression of the U.S. empire,” Chavez said.

This from the other self=proclaimed Victim/Champion of the People shitbag asswipe who sat among cowpies for hours, calling Bush a “donkey” and discerning the “smell of sulphur” at the UN.

I can’t even blame these guys for being such jerks. They wouldn’t be where they are without there asinine fans, spineless followers and scumbag idolaters.

Speak of the devil -

CARACAS, Sep 25 (Reuters) Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said he will skip this week’s UN General Assembly, one year after he told the annual meeting of heads of state in a speech that US President George W Bush was the devil.

Chavez, who hosts Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad later this week, had been due to deliver a speech tomorrow at the gathering at the United Nations’ headquarters in New York.

But the self-styled socialist revolutionary, whose foreign policy focuses on using oil ties to build alliances against US ‘’imperialism,’’ said he was too busy to make the meeting, according to a presidency statement issued late on Monday.

Last year, Chavez angered many Americans and drew charges from Republicans and Democrats alike that he was uncouth after he told the U.N. chamber he could still smell sulphur at the podium following Bush’s speech there a day earlier.

Chavez says he did not plan the remark but that he became emotional and spoke from the heart as he thought about Bush’s foreign policy in places like Iraq.

Awwwww. The global pitter-patter of tears on Che T-shirts everywhere was palpable.

So what was Chavez so busy doing? Blathering on TV for 8 hours straight:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/venezuela/story/0,,2176549,00.html

The former paratrooper, a schoolteachers’ son who lectured at a military academy, was typically ebullient and fluent. Seldom referring to notes, he ranged over energy policy, constitutional reform, low-cost housing, European integration and Colombian peace talks. He engaged with officials and supporters from the audience and from other locations via a satellite feed. As the hours passed and attention spans risked wandering, Mr Chávez leavened things by breaking into song and cracking jokes. People perked up when he railed against the “degeneration” of parents who give daughters breast implants for their 15th birthday, a common practice in Venezuela.

This time there were no special guests such as Fidel Castro, Maradona or Danny Glover, though the president mentioned that he would soon be visited by the actor and director Kevin Spacey.

The gay thing is very weird. I guess there are lots of people of all nationalities that have fucked up attitudes to homosexuality. I guess with this guy he’s in a position to actually take ‘action’.
The gay thing was the weirdest part to me.

Whats weird about it? Islams pretty clear about blowing ones seed up one anothers anus for pleasure, where the lil fellers die wiggling around in shit triyng to find an egg to fertilize. Thats not what Allah had in mind when he blessed you with an orgasm, and its disrespectful to your and your parent’s DNA - your mom’s pretty blue eyes swimming around and croaking in the stink, and all.

Yes, Ahmadinejad sounds like a complete looney, I can’t help but compare him to another maniacal dictator who not only presents a serious threat to world peace, but also world literacy.

I could swear he was elected and hasn’t yet declared himself Presidente for life.
So everybody who misspeaks is an idiot?

I would like you to make several speeches everyday, to large groups of people, under less than perfect conditions, and I will give you a hundred dollars if you do not make any verbal mistakes. I am betting you will. I will even say, just for a month, much less 4 years.
If he is so bad, surely you have other stuff that is much worse than verbal miscues (for another thread, you have gone way off topic)

Yes, but George has made so many “verbal miscues” , I just thought the leader of the free world should have an IQ larger than a cucumber that’s all. I doubt very much I have gone off topic, an old Indian proverb goes like this, a man complained because his neighbour’s pet rabbitt kept leaving droppings everywhere, the neighbour who complained kept a pet elephant. Ahmadinejad is a small player on the world stage, the cucumber I mentioned earlier wields far more power, and is a greater threat to world sanity that any leader of a small country, no matter how radical you may consider them. Check out the elephant shit in your own backyard, you may realise the rabbitt droppings are a convenient diversion. And elections or not, you guys are going to be shovelling the elephant droppings left behind for quite some time to come.

Leave to you to demonstrate stupidity.  Since when is speaking ability an indication of intelligence?  Go look at the cockpit of the type of aircraft Bush was flying in the National Guard, and consider how intelligent you needed to be to do that.

That “Small player” on the world stage is sitting on a major source of energy for the world and is in position to shut off other nations ability to deliver that energy source as well.  Talks about the destruction of another sovereign nation, note this isn’t just advocating a change in government of that nation, but the destruction of the nation entirely.  Oh and he’s seeking nuclear weapsons.  Yeah real small time.

Everytime you make a post you demonstrate more and more your idiocy.

Euros must be Indians cuz they do this constantly: Blackwater = elephant shit, Darfur = rabbitt droppings
Bushitler mouthpiece Bollinger himself spewed that Ahmadinejad was merely a petty dicktater, so what do you want?

“You understand us and make a distinction between the violent behavior of Zionists and the religious beliefs of Jews,” said the senior rabbi who called President Ahmadinejad “a pious man who is seeking to restore peace in the world and has humanitarian plans.” Appreciating the rabbis for their gift, President Ahmadinejad said he was happy to visit them.

“All people in the world have now understood that Judaism is different from Zionism,” said the president.

He added, ”Zionists are a political group looking for taking advantage of the opportunities while Jews are the followers of the Moses who promoted peace and friendship.”
President Ahmadinejad stressed that there was no disagreement between the followers of Judaism, Christianity and Islam as they all pray the same God and are brothers.

The president said the future belongs to the monotheist faiths and that liars would be eliminated.

But what about them aetheists and gays?

Ahmadinejad is a small player on the world stage, the cucumber I mentioned earlier wields far more power, and is a greater threat to world sanity that any leader of a small country, no matter how radical you may consider them. Check out the elephant shit in your own backyard, you may realise the rabbitt droppings are a convenient diversion. And elections or not, you guys are going to be shovelling the elephant droppings left behind for quite some time to come.

So this “rabbit” who feels Israel should be wiped off the map and may be developing Nuclear weapons, isn’t a threat?
You are aware we have many Nuclear weapons and haven’t used one in a long time, even with Bush at the wheel?
I am not so sure Mr Rabbit feels that way.
Well, I know you aren’t Jewish or from Israel.

EDIT: Damn your quickness Buzzion *shakes fist*
