Wouldn’t matter to me if they were Trotskyites, they’re still lunatics. I think I know what’s coming next

Iran yesterday claimed to be the best poets

Thursday, April 17, 2008 (Tehran)

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has proclaimed that Iran is the ‘’most powerful nation’’ in the world as the country’s air force boasted of its prowess at a time of mounting tension with the West.

‘’Iran is the most powerful and independent nation in the world,’’ Ahmadinejad told a military parade outside Tehran marking the Islamic republic’s annual army day.

To mark the occasion, the armed forces were conducting a major fly-by over the parade ground, which was to include around 200 of its fighter jets and other aircraft in a bid to show the power of its air force.

Iran is at odds with the West over its disputed nuclear programme, which the United States and its allies fear could be used to make nuclear weapons. Iran insists it only wants to produce nuclear energy.

Ahmadinejad described Iran as ‘’peace-loving’’ but said the army and elite Revolutionary Guards would ‘’react strongly to the slightest aggression’’ against its soil.

‘’I am proud to announce today that the Iranian nation’s power is of an extent that no major power can dare jeopardize the security and interests of the Iranian nation,’’ said Ahmadinejad.

‘’The Iranian nation with its courageous army will defend its interests with all strength,’’ he added.

Huh? Oil and nuclear energy are soooooooo ‘70s.

Ita flat-out ridiculous. Fortunately the Euro Thinkers now have Tibet to bemoan, cuz Iran flying

200 of its fighter jets and other aircraft

for no reason other than to show off sure does cut into the ozone. “Peak” oil was a big deal just a few posts ago.

See, told ya, Iran knows from spineless, gutless wimps:

http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/04/18/news/Germany-Iran.php

BERLIN: An Iranian deputy foreign minister said Friday that Germany’s reduction in trade with Iran as part of Western sanctions is not hurting his country because competitors from Asia are stepping in to fill the gaps.

Mehdi Safari told reporters in Berlin that Iran’s trade with Asia and Pacific nations had more than doubled in the past three years to reach about $90 billion in 2007. That number is expected to grow to more than $100 billion this year, he said.

At the same time, trade with Germany — for decades one of Iran’s most important trading partners — and with other European nations has shrunk, Safari said.

“Who is losing, you have to ask yourself,” Safari said. “We are doing our job.”

Under Chancellor Angela Merkel, Germany has cut back trade with Iran as part of Western-led efforts to force Tehran to suspend its uranium enrichment program.

German exports to Iran shrank to $5 billion in 2007 from $6.8 billion in 2006, according to figures released in February by the Economic Ministry.

Yet Safari insisted that his nation sees no link between its nuclear program and the drop in trade, saying Iran had cooperated fully with the U.N.’s nuclear watchdog — the International Atomic Energy Agency, or IAEA.

“We did our job with the IAEA. We did a good job, we answered all of the questions that supposedly they asked us,” Safari said.

While in Berlin, Safari held talks with his counterparts in Germany’s Foreign Ministry, as well as with several high-ranking businessmen.

“I told them please, don’t lose the market,” he said. “If you don’t supply some of the parts, we will substitute them and it will be very hard to come back.”

Heres the kicker

The opposition pro-business Free Democrats have criticized Merkel’s government for making it difficult for mid-sized German firms to do business in Iran.

The same lefteous monkeys currently training Thinkers to hang from trees and boycott greedy Google over China’s occupying Tibet are okay doing business with Iran’s murderous, religious, gay-bashing fanatics. = Umurkins by any other definition. Precious.

Asked about reports that average Iranians are starting to feel the effect of the international sanctions, Safari insisted no one in his nation was suffering.

“When I said that the numbers of the trade are coming down, I didn’t say that we are suffering — maybe you are suffering!” he said. “Because we can make a deal with the others for the same goods, for the same qualities and for the same projects.”

So if Germany’s supporting sanctions harms them more than you why even bother talking about it?

Iran calls for expanding ties with Germany

TEHRAN, Apr. 18 (MNA)—Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs Mahdi Safari here on Thursday called for expansion of economic and industrial relations with Germany.

Iran and Germany should utilize all their potentials in developing ties especially in economic and industrial sectors, Safari stated at a meeting with State secretary of Germany’s Federal Foreign Office Reinhard Silberberg.

The Islamic Republic’s policy in the sensitive Middle East region is based on maintaining “stability and security”, he said.

Pointing to Iran’s constructive role in helping to establish security in Afghanistan and reconstructing the country, he said Tehran is prepared to share its experiences in this regard with Berlin.

Safari also insisted on the Islamic Republic’s right to use nuclear technology for peaceful uses. He said the remaining questions about Iran’s nuclear activities have been have been fully answered within the framework of Iran’s strategic cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Silberberg noted that the two countries enjoy good relations and called for continuation of dialogue between Iranian and German officials.

He said that the row over Iran’s nuclear program should be resolved diplomatically.

Germany’s all about vacation anymore.

ut Germany could export some of the pornographic art it displays in its chicest clubs all full of chrome, marble and mirrors, or even better, go back to its old RAF ways in support of clean, harmless Iranian nuclear energy.

Germany’s printing millions of bumper stickers saying “Nuclear Energy? No Thanks” was just a misunderstanding, see....

Holy crap. Looks like Bushitler finally got desperate and skilled enough to make a mix tape in a vain effort to turn Muslim poets against each other.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/04/22/zawahiri.targets.ap/index.html

CAIRO, Egypt (AP)—Al Qaeda still has plans to target Western countries involved in the Iraq war, Osama bin Laden’s chief deputy warns in an audiotape released Tuesday to answer questions posed by followers.

Responding to a question of whether the terror group had plans to attack Western countries that participated in the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq and subsequent war, al-Zawahiri said, “My answer is, yes. We think that any country that joined aggression on Muslims must be deterred.”

Whew. Euros and Thinkers will be spared. And, see, all Muslims are, after all, loving, tender, poet brethren. Or are they?

Al-Zawahiri also denied a conspiracy theory that Israel carried out the September 11, 2001, attacks on the U.S., and he blamed Iran and Shiite Hezbollah for spreading the idea to discredit the Sunni al Qaeda’s achievement.

Al-Zawahiri accused Hezbollah’s al-Manar television of starting the rumor.

“The purpose of this lie is clear—(to suggest) that there are no heroes among the Sunnis who can hurt America as no else did in history. Iranian media snapped up this lie and repeated it,” he said.

“Iran’s aim here is also clear—to cover up its involvement with America in invading the homes of Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq,” he added.

Lie, meet another lie.

The comments reflected al-Zawahiri’s increasing criticism of Iran, which al-Zawahiri has accused in recent messages of seeking to extend its power in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq and through its Hezbollah allies in Lebanon. Until recent months, he had not often mentioned the Islamic republic

Al-Zawahiri addressed several issues, including global warming -- which he said reflected ”how criminal, brutal and greedy the Western crusader world is, with America at the top.”

Cum stain! Now thats what the Thinker likes to hear!

He predicted that global warming would “would make the world more sympathetic to and understanding of the Muslims’ jihad against the aggressor America.”

All ya gotta do is don a kaffiyeh in support of a green earth, the way Allah intended it to be! Alas:

In another answer Tuesday, al-Zawahiri said it was against Islamic religious law for any Muslim to live permanently in a Western country because in doing so they would “have permanent stay there under the laws of the infidels

Looks like Westerners wearing a kaffiyeh in solidarity with the downtrodden isn’t quite enough. Either we convert or ultimately face death at the hands of Islam. That is, if we don’t turn ‘em progressives first. Perhaps Michael Moore could meet with Al-Zawahiri and unite the good against the bad.

Bbummer. Looks like the kaffiyeh is out as a fashion accessory, cuz traitor Hezbollah wears ‘em.

Ali Larijani projected a presidential bearing as he accepted his election as speaker of Iran’s parliament on Wednesday — a vote that boded ill for President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Larijani, a high-profile arch-rival of the president, addressed global themes in his address to the opening session of the Majlis, dressing down the International Atomic Energy Agency and praising Hizballah. Despite the tough talk that was welcomed by some of the legislators with shouts of “God is Great!” and “Death to America!” Larijani received a congratulatory call from European Union Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana — an old negotiating partner

Hm. Looks like a Frenchie stooge is undermining peace and love in Iran on the eve of its invasion over oil by the US.

The shift reflects the fact that Ahmadinejad has alienated many in his own conservative camp with an arrogant personal style and erratic economic and foreign policies. While he still enjoys solid popular support, many Iranians bitterly complain that inflation and unemployment have left the economy in a shambles despite record oil revenues.

Its working, thank you Jesus - our Umurkins in Congress praising Jesus and scream death to Commies, Muslims, Negroes and queers.
