Didn’t they give that to a terrorist once?

Posted by JimK on 10/12/06 at 05:53 PM

Let’s be honest, if they’ll give one to Arafat, they’ll give one to anyone.

The president’s most vocal critic against the war in Iraq was in the Capitol City Wednesday night.

...

Sheehan also announced at the signing that she’s a finalist for a Nobel Peace Prize.

So...how do we find out if this is true?  Anyone know how to verify this?

Update

Thanks to the quick work of reader Doug, we have this:

Q: Has X been nominated as a candidate for the Nobel Prize?

A: Information about the nominations, investigations, and opinions
concerning the award is kept secret for fifty years.

Q: What about the rumors circling around the world about certain people
being nominated for the Nobel Prize this year?

A: Well, either it’s just a rumor, or someone among the invited
nominators has leaked out information. Since the nominations are kept
secret for 50 years, you’ll have to wait until then to find out.

So...it looks like anyone can say they are nominated, and by the time it can be verified, odds are we’ll all be dead.

Hey...did I tell you guys I’m a finalist for a Nobel Peace Prize?

Update on Friday, 0ct. 13 (Also known as Vorhees Day):

Bankers for poor win peace Nobel

Bangladeshi microcredit pioneer Muhammad Yunus and his Grameen Bank were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for their work in advancing economic and social opportunities for the poor, particularly women.

See, now that makes sense.

No.. it can’t be.. there’s just no way..

I don’t doubt it. Consider, this is a prize by an organization that has before given the peace prize to terrorists, and revoked it from those under assault by terrorists. The Nobel Committee is a terrorist-supporting, anti-Semitic organization.

And even then, she may be talking hot air about being a finalist. Anyone can be nominated for a peace prize… there’s a guy that nominates his pig every year as a sign of how pathetically easy it is to nominate somebody for it.

Well, maybe people got a look at those cops grabbing her underneath her legs and promptly decided to give peace a chance so that such a sight would never again be broadcast.

Or, maybe those Nobel voter-people showed up at her book-signing after the photographers left.

I was nominated a nobel prize for my work on stopping the hunger in my stomach by eating a pizza, find out if its true in fifty years :P

This is Off-Topic, but I just read on CNN that Air America has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

I want to announce that based on its ability to clear a room thus making it more peaceful through gaseous emissions, my rectum has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize!

The guy that won gets macrocredit for microcredit.

to comment on this…
being nominated doesn’t really mean anything, since it just takes one person to do so.
Hitler was nominated in 1939
Mussolini twice in 1939
Stalin in 1945 and 1948

It only takes one person to nominate, so anyone saying it really doesn’t have all that much power.

Makes sense, since she says she knows that she was nominated (meaning, she knows the person who nominated her......)

Well she didn’t just say she was nominated, she said she was a finalist. Meaning more than one idiot nominated her.

Not your mouth?

Precisely, his rectum won the award.
You were probably confused because people usually win the award based on what comes out of their mouth. ;)

Even that is questionable.

Didn’t this used to be moorewatch.com?  What ever happened to him?

Sheehan and guns in Canada; is that all you’ve got anymore?

You can’t make news. If Moore isn’t doing much, then there isn’t much to say. An update every now or then about other issues in the world won’t hurt anything.

Typical whining tactic of the trolltards. “Isn’t this supposed to be MOOREwatch?!” Or, if the article is about Moore but not something huge, “Oh, come on! This is hardly news! This is pathetic!” Or, if it’s something big about Moore, silence.

Rann,

Name-calling is something 6 year olds do, isn’t it?  I have contributed money to this site when things were looking dire, so it seems to me, my comments should at the very least be tolerated without immature juvenile insults.

To say Michael Moore is invisible is kind of stretching it isn’t it?  He, or his representatives, blast the government with fresh postings every day.  Moorewatch has found nothing in what he has posted worthy of attack?  I would say this site has become moribund, stale even.

Prior to this posting the last one was about the shooting in Montreal.  And that one is just another tweak at a ‘senseless’ murder in Canada.  I can’t quite figure why one would even bother to bring up this issue (again) as it relates to gun control.  How many ‘senseless’ murders in the US are not being discussed here?  I’m sure that list makes senseless murders in Canada pale by comparison.

Name-calling is something 6 year olds do, isn’t it?

And trolling is something bored thirteen-year-olds do, isn’t it?

I have contributed money to this site when things were looking dire, so it seems to me, my comments should at the very least be tolerated without immature juvenile insults.

First of all, there’s really no way to prove that you’re not lying out of your ass. Second, donating to this site is not a guarantee that your moronic posts will be tolerated with a smile and a “Thank you very much!”

I would say this site has become moribund, stale even.

Then leave, dipshit, and feel free to let the internet cram itself up your ass on the way out.

I’m sure that list makes senseless murders in Canada pale by comparison.

And I’m sure you have less brains than evolution bestowed upon the common turnip.

Rann,

Your med’s wearing off, or did your company cut the drug plan?  Maybe you should move to Canada.

Nasty piece of work aren’t you?

I really don’t give a rat’s ass as to whether you believe me or not.  You’re comments speak volumes…

And he’s still here, folks, despite how much he says the site sucks. This is the sort of person that goes to a restaurant they know they hate the food at, just so they can call the manager over and bitch about it, knowing that finally, finally someone is paying attention to them!

Posted by ebrooks54  on  10/16/2006  at  10:07 PM (Link to this comment | )

Hmmm.

Show me where I said the site sucks.  I asked what happened to it.  There used to be some intelligent discussion once in a while.  Now there is more scatological commentary than anything resembling intelligent debate.  My mistake…

Knock yourself out, if you want.

Wrong. This sheep clearly has at least two awards.

Speaking of Gandhi, I just watched the movie again over the weekend, and it made me think.  Wasn’t Casey’s mom on a fast or something?  Did it just quietly end so that she could have 4000 calories a day instead of the 2500 “fast” calories she was getting?  Anybody ask her about it recently, shouldn’t she be dead from hunger by now?

Hi. I thought this GOP ad was fantastic:

Well, at least the GOP isn’t the Party of Fear(TM) anymore.
