In other words, shut up and stay out of it
Here’s a couple of reponses to Moore from Canadian pundits...Moore nonsense and an Open letter to Michael Moore.
Thanks to Michael (not that one) for the links.
Comments
From the Edmonton Sun:
“Have another doughnut, Michael. I think your blood sugar is running a little low.”
Teeheehee!
From Canada Free Press:
“In Canada, the reality is that if you do not exercise your power as a citizen by voting the scoundrels out of office during an election, you are effectively screwed. The way our voters protect themselves is to deny a questionable party a majority mandate.”
Stand on guard for THAT, Moore.
Glad to see that the members of our press have something to say to that fat whale.
Michael Moore, consider yourself owned. :)
Moore’s understanding of different countries politics goes very little beyond finding out which party is on the right and which is on the left.
And he bases his screed on that. Never mind if the left-wing government is as corrupt as Courtney Love’s panties, as long as it is nominaly on the correct side of the debate, according to Moore, it is OK to ignore a few million here and there.
Kind of like the oil for food thing.
One thing is absolutely certain, when Mikey stands up in front of a foreign audience eager to have their self esteem boosted by his outbursts about Americans’ stupidity, he would be the perfect case in point, had it been true. Babbling on about things of which he has no real knowledge.
From wikipedia:
(emphasis added)
Fahrenheit 9/11: Fahrenheit 9/11 examines America in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, particularly the record of the Bush administration and alleged links between the families of George W. Bush and Osama bin Laden. Fahrenheit was awarded the Palme d’Or, the top honor at the Cannes Film Festival; it was the first documentary film to win the prize since 1956. Moore later announced that Fahrenheit 9/11 would not be in consideration for the 2005 Academy Award for Documentary Feature, but instead for the Academy Award for Best Picture. He stated he wanted the movie to be seen by a few million more people, preferably on television, by election day. Since November 2 was less than nine months after the film’s release, it would be disqualified for the Documentary Oscar. Moore also said he wanted to be supportive of his “teammates in non-fiction film.” However, Fahrenheit received no Oscar nomination for Best Picture. Many critics of Moore’s allege that the actual reason for Fahrenheit 9/11 being pulled from the documentary category is it’s inability to prove itself a factual representation of events, a requirement for a non-fiction title. The title of the film alludes to the classic book Fahrenheit 451 (about a future totalitarian state in which books are banned; paper begins to burn at 451 degrees Fahrenheit) and the pre-release subtitle of the film confirms the allusion: “The temperature at which freedom burns.” At the box office, Fahrenheit 9/11 remains by far the highest-grossing documentary of all time, taking in close to $200 million worldwide, including domestic box office revenue of $120 million, in spite of an overwhelming number of sources that have debunked virtually every key assertion in the film.
Fahrenheit 9/11½ (pre-production): On November 11, 2004 Moore told the Hollywood trade publication Daily Variety that he is also planning a sequel to Fahrenheit 9/11. He said, “Fifty-one percent of the American people lacked information [in this election], and we want to educate and enlighten them. They weren’t told the truth. We’re communicators, and it’s up to us to start doing it now."[4] Moore offered no proof that any actual deception occurred. Critics cite this as “‘The moonbat method’… Make an incredibly assinine, insane comment or accusation, without any basis in fact or reality, and rely on humor or celebrity to carry that message through.” The sequel to Fahrenheit 9/11, like the original, will concern the war in Iraq, terrorism, and liberal America’s kneejerk hatred of President Bush. Moore expects to complete Fahrenheit 9/11½ in 2006 or 2007.
Just an interesting anecdote. :)
I wonder if that sequel will materialise, like the “documentary” Sicko…
I copied and saved the open letter to M Moore, it is that good!

Awesome.
