Promises Promises
Never had a doubt
In the beginning
Never a doubt
Trusted too true
In the beginning
I loved you right through
Arm in arm we laughed like kids
At all the silly things we did
You made me promises, promises
Knowing I’d believe
Promises, promises
You knew you’d never keep
Second time around
I’m still believing
Words that you said
You said you’d always be here
In love forever
Still repeats in my head
You can’t finish what you start
If this is love it breaks my heart
You made me promises, promises
You knew you’d never keep
Promises, promises
Why do I believe
Remember when the Democrats were going to clean up Congress?
Yeah, neither do they.

Dear Michael Moore,
You made a promise once.
12. We will not tolerate politicians who are corrupt and who are bought and paid for by the rich. We will go after any elected leader who puts him or herself ahead of the people. And we promise you we will go after the corrupt politicians on our side FIRST. If we fail to do this, we need you to call us on it. Simply because we are in power does not give us the right to turn our heads the other way when our party goes astray. Please perform this important duty as the loyal opposition.
Do you ever, in all your days, intend to keep it? Are you the liar that we’ve said you are, or are you truly concerned with improving this nation and not just your personal financial standing? Will you ever, just one time, keep your word and go after these corrupt Democrats the way you (admittedly, sort of haphazardly) go after Republicans?
Just wondering if your word means anything,
The World

That’s a damn good statement from Moore, the people should be the ones who hold politicians accountable. The left let some things slip for the sake of expediency, for that they deserve criticism.
The left let some things slip for the sake of expediency
Expediency? Expediency...?
Are you fucking serious?
The left let “some things slip” (those “some things” being legion.) because this is not, by a long shot, a serious intent on the left’s part (most especially Moore’s) to curb corruption.
Anyone who does not suffer from partisan brainwashing understands that this is nothing more than yet another disingenuous bit of partisan posturing, coupled with a witch hunt against anything or anyone conservative.
Your downplaying of it as an almost trivial matter
to be “criticized” is laughable, and right on par with the downplaying of the crimes committed by left-wing players like Jefferson, Murtha, et. al.
They should not be “criticized”.
They should be prosecuted.
Red Star, in their expediancy, what have the dems accomplished since taking over Congress?

“Red Star, in their expediancy, what have the dems accomplished since taking over Congress?”
They raised the min wage to help poor people and heads of families… even though all the data says poor people and heads of families don’t work for the min wage… young people and students do… Sooo, they did it* and demagogued it at the same time.
* and probably caused a little wage inflation bringing down the buying power of actual poor people and working poor families!
They rammed through a cigarette tax to fund another bloated entitlement, and did it in the name of “helping the children”.
Bush vetoed it, though, so I don’t know if it counts.
Oh, and they’ve held lots and lots of hearings.
The Democrats are not a party whose politics I am familiar with, I live in Australia remember,? however from what I do know of them, I think the distance between right and left in that particular party compares to the distance between my right and left arms, and I’m a skinny guy. As far as I’m concerned, Moore’s support of the Democrats, Ralph Nader or Donald Duck for that matter, means shit to me. Moore makes documentaries, entertaining, sometimes inspirational, but I don’t think he has done documentary making any big favours. He lost me when he started taking accolades, the Academy Award and so on, for his documentaries. As ‘Manufacturing Dissent’ points out, rather vindictively, the cause is not Moore. And the fact that Michael goes in for a bit of bullshitting doesn’t help either. Respectable documentary makers, John Pilger, Naomi Klein, Robert Greenwald and a few others have regrettably gone unnoticed, and that is a shame.
Didn’t he also promise to launch an all-out blitz against the Democrats if they didn’t immediately bring every single American troop directly home from Iraq the next day after he made his announcement?
So where’s that? Did I miss that one?
