Manufacturing Dissent - Uncovering Michael Moore

Unnamed and Irregular

Posted by artmonkey on 08/08/07 at 11:32 PM

Got a little bored, tonight. Started doodling, and before you know it, I had this strip.

moore strip 8-9-07

I do that from time to time… just come up with some concept I think is funny, and make a little one-shot strip.
I’d like to be more regular about it, but frankly… well… I’m wayyy too lazy and not nearly enough of a disciplined
writer, either…
But still, on the occasion that I do pop one out, I’d really like to have a title for the strip.
Think you guys can give me a hand, there? Puh-leeeeez? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Oh, and please keep in mind that it’s not a Moore-centric strip, either. A few have featured him, but they won’t
always. (Those are just the ones that I post, here, for obvious reasons.)
So, a Moore-related title wouldn’t really work.

Thanks, gang!

You’ve probably already thought of this, but the obvious choice to me is “Monkey Business”

You know, you would think that I’d thought of that, already, wouldn’t you?  ...but, errr… no, I really hadn’t.

Just call me Captain Oblivious.

Hell, I’d go with Unnamed and Irregular.

Why not do them regularly?

Honestly, it’s a combination of a tight schedule,
a lack of comedic inspiration and good ole’ fashioned laziness.

Pretty much the same reason I let my site go the way
of the dodo.

See, I’m trying to get my illustration business into high gear, so, aside from my day job, I tend to put more energy into doing my paid gigs, and trying to generate more.
I’m a model capitalist in that fashion; the paying customers always come first. ;)

God, I’m such a whore.

Of course. I meant doing them in the context of running a webcomic--something ala www.penny-arcade.com or www.pvponline.com.

But the lack of inspiration and laziness, yeah, that kills it--just like my novel(s) I never get around to writing… LOL

Stewart -

Ever done NaNoWriMo? It’s a fun way to get that novel written. Check it out at www.nanowrimo.org

(And no, I don’t work for them.)

I loved the comic strip.  I see that Mr Moore has Rudy Guiliani in his sites. Mayor Guiliani of course was Mayor of New York City on that terrible September morning.  He provided badly needed leadership during the aftermath of those terrible attacks. He had filthy soot on his clothes, and breathed using a mask.  I ask you something Mr Moore, have you ever been to ground zero?
The ground zero workers do deserve all of the health care that we can provide.  I just wish that they had used a better person than Michael Moore to convey their feelings.  The only thing that Mr Moore cares about is what goes into his wallet.

Actually, Stewart, I’d love to do them more regularly… and recently, I’ve been finding more and more inspiration to do so.

I do have some unused space on my site’s account that I could use to throw up a page just for them, I suppose.
Though I also wouldn’t mind debuting them here, first…

I just don’t want to hog all of Jim’s bandwidth doing it.

Especially since, though they’re all basically political, they aren’t all Moore-based. (Which is kind of a logical guideline for we contributors.)
