Cusak on Mikey
Check out what actor John Cusak has to say about Michael Moore.
JOHN CUSACK has attacked fellow filmmaker MICHAEL MOORE for failing to support the DEMOCRATIC party in the last American presidential elections.
Moore, who won the Best Documentary OSCAR at this year’s ACADEMY AWARDS for his anti-gun film BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE, threw his backing behind left-wing candidate RALPH NADER in the 2000 elections - but Cusack believes that he should have joined him in tactical support of Democratic candidate AL GORE instead
Cusack explains, “He lost a lot of credibility when he went and campaigned for Ralph Nader because he was dead wrong when it counted.
“I’m not a huge fan of the Democratic party, but I knew there was a huge difference between then and the Bush crowd. Don’t tell me Al Gore would have handed out the contract to rebuild Iraq before he’d given the order to bomb it.”
In other words, Moore’s support of the Green Party helped the GOP, which is something that conservatives (including me) have been saying for ages. And I sincerely hope that Mikey gets out there and stumps his fat ass off for the Greens in 2004. If an asshat like Dennis Kucinich or Howard Dean gets the Democrat nomination I think Moore will campaign for the Democrats, but if Lieberman or Kerry gets the nod I think he’ll plug the Greens. Since Kerry or Lieberman will most likely end up winning the nomination then, as far as I’m concerned, Moore can such as many votes away from the Democrats as he likes.
