Fred Thompson makes a fool of Mikey Update

OK, Moore goes to Cuba.  Fred Thompson criticizes the trip.  Moore responds, criticizing Fred’s love of “Cuban” cigars and challenging him to a debate.

Fred releases this, a thing of beauty.

Oh my.  Oh dear me.  Short, succinct, easy for a guy like Moore to understand...and on point.  When do we get to find out we can vote for Fred?  ;)

The discussion in the comments is worth highlighting...in typical Moore fashion, Mikey tried to get Fred investigated by the feds.  This is hypocrisy to the nth degree, as Mikey is currently cryng to anyone who will listen that he shouldn’t be investigated - even though he admits to behavior that is, in no uncertain terms, a violation of the law.

Nothing new for Mike to be a hypocrite though, and want the same things he wants protection from to be used against someone else.

What;s hilarious about this is that Fred Thompson is most likely not smoking a Cuban cigar.  I should have posted this in the first place...the cigars in question are made in the traditinal pre-Castro Cuban way, but in the Dominican Republic.  All great modern-day cigars are made there, it’s where all the really good cigar makers fled to when Castro so violently and brutally seized control of Cuba, murdering and torturing his enemies and anyone who disagreed with him.  He then proceeded to nationalize the cigar industry.  The smart, talented men behind the company went to the Canary Islands, then due to some copyright issues with another manufacturer, moved to the Dominican Republic and started making Montecristos for the world, but mostly for the U.S. since we don’t recognize Cuba’s nationalized copyright or trademark.  Side note: The company that owns a lot of Dominican premium brands also owns 50% of the company that the Cuban government set up to control the national industry.  Just goes to show you - communism and socialism fail miserably and always need to be bailed out by good old-fashioned capitalism.  :)

All this was easy to find with Google.  took me maybe two, two-and-a-half minutes.  Hey, did I mention that Castro also tortured people solely for the crime of being gay, and imprisoned and tortured reporters who talked about his crimes?  Mike sure knows how to pick his friends.

Anyway, the point is this: Moore - once again - leaped before he did the most basic of research.  The Cuban Montecristo is inferior to the Dominican one.  In fact, most Cubans today are inferior to various brands of Dominican cigars.  I learned this the hard way, by wasting my money when I was on my honeymoon on St. Lucia a bunch of years ago.  :)

In summary: Mike’s an ass, and he’s done it to himself yet again.  He has no one to blame but Mikey.
