When asking why we would dedicate any amount of time and/or energy to watching Moore, the subtext is, necessarily, his importance and influence.

Those who decry a website that targets Moore must first assume either of two positions, logically.

The first position is that Moore’s films are unimpeachable; that Moore is 100% honest, or even mostly honest, and therefore any aspersions cast on his films is hateful, ignorant and partisan in nature.

The second position is that Moore and his works are inconsequential and not at all influential, and therefore any time spent on dismantling them is wasted, and belies a spiteful, trivial mindset by any who would spend such time doing so.

Occasionally, an individual takes both positions simultaneously.

The fact that there are so many who would take either, if not both, of these positions is enough of a reason for this site to exist.

Both positions show a certain ignorance, and inability to either process, or accept, intellectual honesty.

Does Moore present his subjects in a factual, honest manner?
I think this site has done a pretty bang-up job of illustrating that he does not. His films have been wrought with inconsistencies, incorrect assumptions, editorial slight-of-hand and even outright lies. These are not only well documented here, but also by numerous other sites, books and even films. (Some even by former Moore fans.)
The idea that Moore’s films are honest is really not even a question any more.
Anyone who isn’t a Stepford-brand leftist was forced to make that concession years ago.

Is Moore, as a political entity and as a filmmaker, a fluffy bunny of unimportant stature, who should be beneath scrutiny by virtue of his harmlessness?
Well, Moore, himself, certainly doesn’t seem to think so. (why would the U.S. government conspire to oppress an individual who is so unimportant?)
And a great many of his fans have bought into this moonbattery, belying the fact that they don’t think so, either.
Indeed, in liberal circles, Moore isn’t known as “some guy” who makes “cute little movies”. He’s known as, and is frequently called, a “hero”, and a “true patriot”, and a “visionary” and of course, the obligatory reference to him as a ”revolutionary film-maker”.

Then there’s the very visible aspect of his influence. Like it or not, he was one of the key factors in helping to bring out record numbers to the 2004 voting booths.
(Of course, it’s been argued that this actually worked against the DNC, but that’s another story...)
He also stoked the flames that eventually became a moonbat underground of 9/11 conspiracy nuts.
(What? You thought Alex Jones was influential enough to create those thousands of tin-foil hat wearing nitwits? Haha… Hardly.)

Moore continues, on a daily basis, to be in the national, and even global, public eye. He is an icon of the left, and holds with that title, a very notable amount of influence over those whose feet are planted anywhere left-of-center.
His films become national discussions. They even effect the political, and legislative landscape.
Why do you think there’s such heated discussion regarding health care on the Hill right now?
You think Hillary Clinton started it?
Think it’s just a coincidence that it’s happening at the same time as the release of Sicko?

No… Moore is very influential.
I wish he wasn’t as much as you do… but he is.

So both positions are wrong. But their incorrectness is not the real issue.
The fact that these positions are even argued for, is.

The fact that there are still so many people out there who are either so woefully ignorant of reality, or so partisanly blinded against it, all stemming from Moore’s films, is reason enough for us to be here.

We are here to educate as many of these people as we are able, and through this enlightenment, eradicate as many of these ridiculously faulty ideas, as we can.
But we’re just some little website. We’re not limitless in influence and resources.

However, as long as Moore continues to spawn such ignorance in others, this site will prove to be necessary.
We will never reach all of them, granted. Hell, most are too far gone to be reached at all.
But we provide a service. And the proof of the need for that service is, as sl0re has said, in the fact that there are still people out there who
are ignorant enough to ask us why we are here at all…
