I can feel it...Sicko is going to start hitting the news son, and I want to get ahead of the coming storm of activity. I’ll admit, I have basically let you guys run the site for awhile now, the message boards and comments are pretty much the reason to come back. I’ve had so much stuff happen this last year and change, and the easiest thing to let go of was this site. For that I apologize. I know we need to whip ourselves back into shape, so I want to get started in little ways that will help.
First, I have restructured and renamed some of the categories. Some were too cutesy and didn’t describe what they contained. Some were useless. Some were missing. What I need now is someone to help me categorize old posts properly...anyone want the job? You’d have access to the control panel so you could make posts, but your primary job for now would be to read old posts and decide if they were properly categorized, were missing a category or if one needed to be added. I plan to add Technorati tag capability as well, and that same person would be responsible for creating tags on any old posts he or she worked on.
Also, I want to create a proper blogroll. In fact I want to do that next. SO...everyone can help out with this one - if you are a member of this site and you have a webpage you’d like to promote, leave the link in the comments. PLEASE USE THE LINK BUTTONS TO DO IT! My only rule is it has to be your blog or site, or a group effort that you are a part of. I don’t care if it’s Japanese Anime reviews or real estate reporting...if you’re a Moorewatcher, and you aren’t posting kiddy porn or Nazi crap, we’ll link to it. make sure you let me know it’s a personal site in the comments.
The other category I’d like to create is blogs or sites that have to do with Moore, and I was thinking of breaking that into Pro and Anti. So if you know a link for any those, list it along with a Pro and Anti in front of it so I can create a couple of blogrolls for those.
OH! Also, if you’re interested in being an author, or a researcher or just want a bully pulpit from which to shout about the issues that Moore covers, email me...I’m always open to adding quality posters to the ranks. I know the last time I asked nothing happened, but this time I am going to get on top of it. Shoot me an email and we’ll talk about it.
One last question - Should I worry about the look of the site? We haven’t redesigned in a long, long time, and I kind of feel that this yellowy-orange and brownish grey is our thing now. Originally the colors were simply lifted from the promotional materials for Bowling For Columbine - and I planned to change with each film, but...it stuck. Should I leave it and stop worrying?
