Jefferson Win Poses Dilemma for Party, Loudmouths Who Make Promises They Don’t Intend To Keep

Posted by JimK on 12/11/06 at 09:45 PM

Bribe-taking scumbag re-elected, Louisiana gets the government it deserves.

Voters gave the Louisiana Democrat an emphatic reelection victory over state Rep. Karen Carter, even though his campaign had been weighted with revelations that federal authorities had videotaped him taking $100,000 in alleged bribe money, and that $90,000 of it had been found inside a freezer in his apartment in the District. The investigation led House colleagues to dump him from a key committee, donors abandoned him and the state Democratic Party switched its allegiance to his opponent.

But before cheering supporters at a hotel room on election night, Jefferson called his win “a great moment” and said, “I thank almighty God for making it possible.”

He declined to discuss the probe.

Let me just reiterate, for those who may have already forgotten:

12. We will not tolerate politicians who are corrupt and who are bought and paid for by the rich. We will go after any elected leader who puts him or herself ahead of the people. And we promise you we will go after the corrupt politicians on our side FIRST. If we fail to do this, we need you to call us on it. Simply because we are in power does not give us the right to turn our heads the other way when our party goes astray. Please perform this important duty as the loyal opposition.

Still waiting, Mikey.

It’s all in the way Moore worded it. All he has to do is say that Jefferson isn’t on his “side”, because only non corrupt officials are on his side. That way, he doesn’t have to worry about actually following through on his pledge. Michael Moore’s pledge was nothing but a thinly veiled nose-thumbing at the Republican Party. He doesn’t intend to follow through on any of it. It’s just one more reason to dislike him.

pelosi and moore both need to re-examine what they’ve been saying (unfortunately, you’ll probably never hear much more on this except from blogs)

Its amazing what Bono’s support of NO can do....

FEMA could learn some tricks from him, and should stay away from NO, because it really doesn’t look like they need FEMA’s help.

But Jefferson hasn’t been found guilty of any corruption yet.  Remember, any accusations against republicans and its absolute proof of their corruption. Democrats are only guilty after all appeals have been exhausted.

Coupla things here:

1) Democrat with revelations of wrongdoing = “Right Wing Conspiracy”; Republican with revelations of wrongdoing = “Send him to jail!”

2) Moore supporters will have you believe that Mikey is trying to save the world (from Republicans).  When he turns out to be all talk (or full of shit), they pull the “that’s just his opinion - he’s only a filmmaker for crying out load!” bullshit.

How his koolaid-drinking followers can’t see through him beyond me.

Of course, anyone who disagrees with him is a koolaid drinking, Bush loving, gay hating, polluting, greedy, bigoted, racist, SUV driving Republican!

PS:  I forgot “warmongering” and “gun toting”.

Mikey will eat many things before his words…
