Hate Mail
Oh how I love hate mail.
To: Moorewatch
From:
Subj: EuropeRegarding you’re quote “...Europe as the social model which we should aspire to”. Well, I’m European and I live in Spain - a country that suffered terribly under a right-wing dictator. You don’t quite have one of those yet, but you are on the way. Bush is an ignorant and stupid little man with rich, powerful and totally unethical friends.
You could only ever hope to be as forward-thinking as the Europeans. We even have free speech over here. Remember what that is? It’s something that the founding fathers wanted for your country, but that the republicans have made sure you don’t have.
You are sad and dangerous little people. Long live people like Michael Moore who attempt to educate the millions of Americans who have a fair and just outlook on the world.
Shame on you.
Roy, I’m honestly curious. Can you give me examples of this lack of free speech you’re talking about? Have the government death squads shut down the Daily Kos? Has MoveOn.org’s headquarters been firebombed into oblivion? Could a country with no free speech give Michael Moore the ability to make the largest grossing documentary in history criticizing the incumbent president only weeks before the election?
We’ve been hearing this drivel from left-wing morons for years, that Bush has shut down free speech. If you agree with this, give me some examples. Let’s see if Roy has the fucking balls to respond to this with some concrete, specific examples of the stifling of free speech under Bush.

In other words, shut up and stay out of it
Here’s a couple of reponses to Moore from Canadian pundits...Moore nonsense and an Open letter to Michael Moore.
Thanks to Michael (not that one) for the links.

Please let this happen
Everyone’s favorite attention-seeking mother...person… isat it again.
Cindy Sheehan, the peace activist who set up camp near President Bush’s Texas ranch last summer, said Saturday she is considering running against Sen. Dianne Feinstein to protest what she called the California lawmaker’s support for the war in Iraq.
Not only would the press finally turn on her and expose her vacuousness and her ignorance, but it would teach the KosKids a lesson in humility...they worship at her feet and she would get humiliated in a real political race.
Do it, Cins. It’ll be hysterical.
Update
Yeah...g’head. Run for office, nutter.

A Question of Values
It’s got to be tough to be a radical leftie asshat these days. First off you have Osama bin Laden literally parroting the Michael Moore/Cindy Sheehan/MoveOn talking points, and now Saddam Hussein is doing the same thing.
Defence lawyers for Saddam Hussein Wednesday distributed copies of a lawsuit against President Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair for destroying Iraq.
The suit accuses Bush and Blair of committing war crimes by using weapons of mass destruction and internationally-banned weapons including enriched uranium and phosphoric and cluster bombs against unarmed Iraqi civilians, notably in Baghdad, Fallujah, Ramadi, al-Kaem and Anbar.
The Amman-based legal team had said Sunday that the ousted president intended to start legal action against the two leaders of the Iraq war in the International Criminal Court in the Hague, but the text of the suit was made available Wednesday.
The suit also accuses the U.S. president and British prime minister of torturing Iraqi prisoners, destroying Iraq’s cultural heritage with the aim of eliminating an ancient civilization, and inciting internal strife.
Bush and Blair were also accused of polluting Iraq’s air, waters and environment.
Now, I ask you, honestly, how is this any different from the charges we hear daily from the radical left? They’re exactly the same! Bush and Blair are war criminals, the war was illegal, blah blah blah fucking blah.
If there’s one thing lefties hate it’s when you accuse them of holding anti-American or unpatriotic views. What the left needs to begin asking itself is this: If your opinions perfectly gel with those of America’s greatest enemies, isn’t this an indication that maybe, just maybe, there’s something seriously wrong with the values you hold?

Going to the chapel and I’m going to see Cindy
On January 4th, 2006 I had the rare opportunity to actually see Cindy Sheehan speak here in Hawaii. The event was organized by a local bunch of liberal anti-military idiots and held at a church. Considering that we have all four branches of the military here on Oahu, I wondered where they could be having this event that they could feel safe and sheltered from the “eeeeevil Bush military regime”.
So where did they have this “blessed event”? Why at a church of course. But not just any church of course. No, they held this event at the most liberal church on Oahu right across from the main campus of the University of Hawaii. You know, the same school where a bunch of rich kids held a sit in in the University President’s office in protest of the $50 MILLION contract the Navy was offering UH to develop a research center at the school.
So, I decided to take my brand new digital camcorder and a list of questions partially suggested by JimK of Moorewatch.com and see if I could get answers from Cindy like she wants from our President.
Cindy Sheehan at Church of the Crossroads 1/4/06
Let me start by explaining how this happened. I was working out at 24 Fitness in Kaneohe, HI the morning of January 4th when I noticed Cindy Sheehan being interviewed on KGMB morning news. My head spun at the possibility that the moonbat heroine was actually here in Hawaii. And for her to be here on Oahu, a military island, was just too much to bare.
After leaving the gym, I called the KGMB newsroom to find out if Cindy was indeed here in Hawaii. They confirmed that she was here and was scheduled to speak at a rally at the Church of the Crossroads in Honolulu. It just so happens that the Church of the Crossroads is located across the street from the Manoa campus of the University of Hawaii. The same campus where a group of UH radical hippie wannabes staged a sit-in at the College President’s office to protest a new research program proposed by the U.S. Navy. A contract that would have brought in $50 Million for the college. But we all know how the liberals feel about the military. They “support the troops” but they also want the military disbanded so unemployment and homelessness can skyrocket and they can feel good about bitching about the lack of social programs for the problems created by the Republicans. ( Try using this “logic” for too long and you might find yourself listening to R.E.M. and Joan Baez while watching Fahrenheit 9/11 and start wishing that Barbra Streisand and Harry Belafonte were your parents!)
But I digress.
So I began my preparations for the night.

Run Away, Unarmed Hoser
I have been quite amused lately by Canadian attitudes towards firearms. I think the logic behind Canadian gun policies is deeply flawed, and the idea that the police are always going to be able to protect you is pretty naive. Canadians are free to believe whatever they like, I suppose. But, then you read a story like this. (All items in bold are my emphasis.)
A police chase at the Canada-U.S. border forced the closure of the Peace Arch border crossing south of Vancouver on Tuesday.
It also caused dozens of Canadian guards to walk off the job, fearing for their safety.
Yes, folks, you read that right. The Canadian border guards actually ran away because they were scared.
The incident started when two men, both murder suspects, tried to get into Canada. Officials say the two men, 38-year-old Ishtiaq Hussain and 22-year-old Jose Antonio Barajas, are now in custody. They are wanted on murder charges in California.
But the arrest didn’t come easy. One of the suspects was wounded in a shootout with police.
U.S. sheriffs say the pair managed to make it to the check point about a metre before Canadian soil.
“They [drove] through the border and they almost struck two uniformed officers,” said Bill Elf, of the Watch County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspects continued northbound and struck the Peace Arch itself at one point.
Witness Bill Whittle didn’t see the ensuing gunfight but he heard it. “I heard about seven or eight gunshots on the other side of the Peace Arch,” he said. “One of [the suspects] was shot. [The police] got him out of the car.”
Officials credit a brave deputy sheriff for single-handedly stopping the pair, who were considered armed and dangerous.
(Bill Whittle? The Bill Whittle?) So, let’s recap. A pair of dangerous murderers were trying to get into Canada. They were pursued by Americans with guns. There was a shootout, which prevented the men from getting into Canada, and resulted in both being taken into custody. But here’s the best part.
CBC News has learned that when unarmed Canadian border guards found out the murder suspects were coming their way they left their posts at four crossings along the B.C. border. Only two supervisors were left at each crossing to protect the Canadian side.
A spokeswoman with Canada Border Services says the guards have the legal right to refuse to work if they believe they are in imminent danger.
Let’s review. The guards, tasked with controlling Canada’s borders, were unarmed. They have the legal right to refuse to protect Canada’s borders if they feel they are in danger. Two armed murderers were trying to get into Canada. Since the guards were unarmed, they turned and ran away. And Canada’s borders were thus protected by big, scary, gun-crazy knuckledragging Americans.
Seriously, you can’t make this shit up, folks.

Canadian Burn
Michael Moore, January 20, 2006.
Oh, Canada—you’re not really going to elect a Conservative majority on Monday, are you? That’s a joke, right? …
These are no ordinary times, and as you go to the polls on Monday, you do so while a man running the nation to the south of you is hoping you can lend him a hand by picking Stephen Harper because he’s a man who shares his world view. Do you want to help George Bush by turning Canada into his latest conquest? Is that how you want millions of us down here to see you from now on? The next notch in the cowboy belt? C’mon, where’s your Canadian pride? I mean, if you’re going to reduce Canada to a cheap download of Bush & Co., then at least don’t surrender so easily. Can’t you wait until he threatens to bomb Regina? Make him work for it, for Pete’s sake.
But seriously, I know you’re not going to elect a guy who should really be running for governor of Utah. Whew! I knew it! You almost had me there. Very funny. Don’t do that again. God, I love you, you crazy cold wonderful neighbors to my north. Don’t ever change.
Canada, last night.
Canadians installed a Conservative government in office for the first time in 12 years but with a limited mandate, signaling voters’ desire for change at a measured pace. …
“Each and every day, I will assure you of one thing—I will dedicate myself to making Canada more united, stronger, more prosperous and a safer country,” Harper told an ecstatic crowd in the Western Canadian city of Calgary after his win.
The result was a major triumph for Harper, a 46-year-old economist who created the Conservatives in late 2003 by pushing through the merger of two squabbling right-wing parties. He will be the first prime minister from the oil-rich Western province of Alberta for 25 years.
Thus one of the most consistent political axioms in history holds true. If Michael Moore publicly supports your candidacy, you’re going to lose.
Another failed election
Poor Mikey, he just can’t get anything right. Does this guy ever make a winning call?

Mikey Loves Osama
There’s trouble a-brewin’ in the love triangle of Chris Matthews, John Kerry, and Michael Moore.
A remark by MSNBC’s Chris Matthews in which he said that Osama bin-Laden “sounds like an over-the-top Michael Moore here, if not a Michael Moore” has outraged opponents of the war in Iraq and leading Democrats including former presidential candidate John Kerry. Matthews made the comment during an interview with Sen. Joseph Biden on Hardball Thursday in which they discussed an audio tape by bin-Laden that aired earlier in the day on Al Jazeera, the Arab news channel. Kerry commented: “You’d think the only focus tonight would be on destroying Osama bin-Laden, not comparing him to an American who opposes the war. ... If the administration had done the job right in Tora Bora we might not be having discussions on Hardball about a new Bin Laden tape. How dare Scott McClellan tell America that this Administration puts terrorists out of business when had they put Osama bin-Laden out of business in Afghanistan when our troops wanted to, we wouldn’t have to hear this barbarian’s voice on tape.”
Okay, let’s begin by ignoring Kerry’s usual blustery idiocy regarding Tora Bora and focus on his haughty indignation regarding Matthew’s statement. The fact is, when you look at what OBL said and the crap that Michael Moore has been spewing for the past five years, there’s no a whole lot of difference between the two. Here’s just a few of the more glaring similarities. (The Osama bin Laden quotes below are all from the BBC News transcript. The Michael Moore quotes are as linked.) First there is praise for the Islamofascist forces currently fighting the United States.
OBL: “I say that despite all the barbaric methods, they have failed to ease resistance, and the number of mujahideen, praise be to God, is increasing.”
MM: “The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not ‘insurgents’ or ‘terrorists’ or ‘The Enemy.’ They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow—and they will win.”
Bush has no plan.
OBL: “The wise ones know that Bush has no plan to achieve his alleged victory in Iraq.”
MM: “In your heart of hearts you know Bush is a miserable failure. From having no plan on what to do in Iraq once he conquered Baghdad to the 380 missing tons of explosives that could be used to kill our brave young men and women, this guy doesn’t have a clue how to fight and win a war.”
The war in Iraq has made America less safe by creating terrorists.
OBL: “Reality testifies that the war against America and its allies has not remained confined to Iraq, as he claims. In fact, Iraq has become a point of attraction and recruitment of qualified resources.”
MM: “We are hated, we are despised, we are less safe,” Moore said, inciting cheers and applause from the audience. “George W. Bush has made us less safe in this world.” Moore made it clear that the war on terror, or in his words, “the war on a noun,” is not making the world a safer place, but serving as a training ground for more terrorists. “You do not liberate a people with the barrel of a gun,” Moore said.
The war was all about corporate profit.
OBL: “There is no defect in this solution other than preventing the flow of hundreds of billions to the influential people and war merchants in America, who supported Bush’s election campaign with billions of dollars. Hence, we can understand the insistence of Bush and his gang to continue the war.”
MM: “Halliburton is not a “company” doing business in Iraq. It is a WAR PROFITEER, bilking millions from the pockets of average Americans. In past wars they would have been arrested—or worse.”
I could have posted twenty more similarities between the two, but these are sufficient for illustrative purposes. There are significant parallels between the rhetoric we hear coming from the Islamist terrorist camp and from the radical western left. There always have been.
Now, that being said, there’s more going on here. Basically OBL, with this “truce” offer, is playing to an audience. The offer isn’t aimed at Bush or the Muslim world. No, my friends, it’s aimed at the activist liberal left, the MoveOn and Michael Moore crowd, the bongo playing drum circle hippie asshats who stage a protest every five minutes because they have nothing better to do. Much like the USSR used the anti-war movement to great benefit during the Vietnam era, so the terrorists know that the useful idiots in the contemporary peace movement can serve the same purpose.
Bin Laden’s message is simple: “We are only fighting back against American imperialism and aggression, and for the liberation of Palestine from the Zionists. The so-called war on terror is a war Bush cannot win. Prolonging the war will only serve to enrich Bush’s corporate masters even further. I am offering you a truce. You might not like me, but I am willing to end this war right now. If you believe in peace you will support me.” This is EXACTLY the mantra of the peace movement. Go down the list of left-wing beliefs.
1) America is an aggressive imperialist which seeks global economic hegemony.
2) Israel does not have a right to exist, and the Palestinians are an oppressed group on par with black South Africans.
3) The war on terror is not an actual war, since terrorism is a tactic, and a war cannot be waged on a tactic. Therefore the war on terror cannot ever actually be won, and is used solely as a justification for endless war, resulting in massive corporate profits.
4) Peace is defines solely as the absence of conflict. Anyone should be trusted when they claim to have peaceful coexistence as their primary motivation.
It goes on and on and on. What remains to be seen is if Michael Moore and his ilk will repudiate this message. Don’t hold your breath.
Update: It appears that the fine folks over at Ankle Biting Pundits had exactly the same idea I did. Don’t miss their selection of Mikey quotes.

Gold Medal Madness
Just when you think the anti-gun hysteria the UK couldn’t get any more draconian…
British lawmakers are being urged to ease a ban on handguns so Britain’s champion shooters can train for the Olympics.
Competitors currently must travel to Switzerland, where their guns are kept locked in an armory at a shooting range in Zurich, the Times of London reported.
The ban was imposed after the 1996 massacre of 16 children and a teacher at Dunblane Primary School in Scotland by a gun collector.
A dispensation for handguns was granted during the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002, but the rules were so strict that some international teams lodged complaints, and are now asking for better conditions for the London Olympics in 2012, the newspaper said.
Shooters were escorted from Heathrow Airport under armed guard and their guns were taken in an armored vehicle to the national shooting center. Spectators had to watch events behind screens and shooters were guarded by armed officers.
I can’t really blame the British, I suppose. Considering the massive string of massacres committed by Olympic sport shooters the public is well served by keeping weapons out of the hands of these dangerous menaces. It got so bad there a few years ago you couldn’t open a paper or turn on the TV without hearing about the latest mass murder or rampage by one of these animals. Remember folks, guns don’t kill people, guns in the hands of British Olympic athletes kill people.
