OT - Call the Starkcast
I’m getting ready for show #20...an all-feedback listener celebration, and I could use some calls to the voicemails line.
Scream, yell, tell jokes, ask questions, be raunchy, do impressions, sing a song...whatever. It’s your time to shine, baby. 206-600-5465. Best call wins something from my living room. Seriously! Call. 206-600-5465.
Comments are open mic.

The new show is up and ready for you. A Moore-on called a couple weeks ago about the Downing Street nonsense. Billy from Philly: It’s on, beeyotch.

OT: Best New Blog
I know this is off-topic, but Mikey’s a boring date lately, so…
If I had an awards system in place, Best New Blog would go directly to Clublife, a blog kept by an NYC bouncer.
It’s one of the most well-written blogs I’ve ever read, and that includes the big names you normally think of when someone says “Best blog.” The stories are fascinating & funny, and the author knows how to draw the reader in. He writes better than most professionals in the field.
I’m staying current with his latest entries, but also having a blast reading through his archives. Check it out.
Since this is off topic, consider the comments Open Mic. Any subject your heart desires.

Open Mic: Long time no post!
We know. Nothing to say though save for the info in Byron York’s new book, which is pretty much spelled out here.
Consider this an open thread: You make the topics!

Open Mic: Best movie talk
OK, let’s relax a little. What are some great movies that you have watched, say in the last 6 months. Doesn’t have to be a new release, it can be on DVD, a classic, etc.
The first one that springs to mind for me...no, correct that, the first two, since they are similar but different, are ”Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and ”The Butterfly Effect.” Runner up: the ”Dawn of the Dead” remake.
I thought “Eternal Sunshine” was compelling. I was genuinely interested in learning about these people and why they did what they did. Jim Carey was, as always, brilliant and able to make you forget that he’s Jim Carey moments after the film begins. It looked great too, and that always scores high with me. “Butterfly” was good, albeit flawed, for much the same reason, I wanted to know about the people, I cared what happened, and I was happy to see Ashton Kutcher get recognized as someone who can actually act. I knew it not from That 70’s Show, but from a brief scene in ”Just Married.” It’s near the end when he’s trying to get in the gates of his wife’s parents’ home, and he breaks down and for like 90 seconds, puts on a spectacular acting performance. I knew then this kid wasn’t all goofy comedy and pratfalls.
“Dawn” is just an ass-kicking re-work of the original, and I’m not generally a big remake fan. This one was done *precisely* correct, perfect cast, and that ending could not have been better. Get the DVD, it’s worth every penny.
So...you?
