We’re not sitting here, starved for attention, begging to get on some left-wing radio show.  Frankly, none of us could care less.  However, we’re more than prepared to do interviews with people who are adversarial to our position.  I’ve done interviews with a number of newspapers, and Jim as gone on national radio shows before.  Some of these interviews were friendly, some were not.  But not once, ever, have we received anything along these lines.  This is, quite possibly, the most pathetic thing I’ve ever read.  Do they seriously expect anyone to go on their show after reading this?  Not only are the spelling and punctuation atrocious (I had to significantly reformat the email to even make it legible), but why on Earth would any of us subject ourselves to a radio show that is incapable of inviting on guests without denigrating them?

I find it absolutely hilarious that the reason Hannity and Limbaugh and Medved “bailed” on appearing on this show is because they were somehow intimidated and/or scared.  These are three of the most successful broadcasters in talk radio today; like they have the time or the inclination to go on some piss-ant left-wing radio show.  More people would tune in to hear them than the actual host: Cui Bono? I’ve sent emails to Michael Moore’s offices before asking him to comment on various things, but he never replied.  Is he “scared” to respond to MOOREWATCH or, in the grand scheme of things, are we totally insignificant to him?  We don’t overstate our importance here.  We do our thing and leave it up to the internet public to decide whether we’re any good or not.  Conversely, Thom Hartmann (and this is one of the things I detest about Bill O’Reilly) assumes that his show is the be-all, end-all of public debate, and that anyone who declines to appear is operating out of a sense of fear.  I also find it hysterical that he mentions Medved, one of the most polite people I have ever heard in talk radio, a man who is exceptionally gracious to his left-wing guests (Ingrid Newkirk of PeTA being an excellent example), in a profanity-laden email designed to goad us into nothing more than a fight behind the bike shed.

I also love the immediate left-wing assumption that we’re “chickenhawks,” implying that we’re people who support war but would never fight in it ourselves.  Out of the three regular contributors to MOOREWATCH, two of us—Paratrooper and myself—are military veterans.  I would be willing to bet every penny I make next year that 2/3 of the staff of the Thom Hartmann show have not have not worn their nation’s uniform.  If Para and I are chickenhawks, I guess that makes the staff of the Thom Hartmann Show “chickenshits.”

Thom Hartmann and/or his staff have threatened to portray us to the world as being afraid to come on his show if we “bail,” especially after we have “attacked” Casey Sheehan’s mother.  Obviously they have refrained from reading the multitude of posts recently where we have specifically stated that personally attacking Casey Sheehan’s mother is a tasteless thing to do, including Para’s post from earlier today requesting a refrain from commentary on Casey Sheehan’s mother while she deals with her own mother’s unfortunate stroke.  But of course, facts don’t count when your ideology permits you to brand your opponents as chickenhawks without actually knowing a damn thing about them.

Thom, there isn’t a single subject you wish to discuss with us that hasn’t been fully explained on this site a million times.  Judging by the quality of the email you send out, your staff isn’t all that intelligent to begin with, so it’s no wonder that you don’t know this already.  I’m assuming by virtue of the fact that you’re a published author with a radio program that you are intelligent and can make a cogent argument on your own.  Therefore, I am more than willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that you don’t know the quality of email that your booker is sending out to prospective guests.  If this level of unprofessional conduct is okay by you, then you’re not worth our time.

Please, by all means, go all over the internet and portray us as cowards who were afraid to tangle with the Thom Hartmann the Great and Terrible.  Until I received this email this morning I had never heard of Thom or his show, so his opinion of me, my co-bloggers, or this blog means exactly jack shit.  This is so typical of the left.  They put on the air of elegance and sophistication, then write an email not worthy of my fifteen year old son.  They don’t have the integrity to show you what goes on behind the scenes, but we do.  When Thom goes on the air and tells everyone that we are afraid of him for not accepting his invitation, now you’ll know why. 

This is left-wing sausage being made.  Sickening, isn’t it?
